So I’ve been running and working out for an average of once every alternate days. Soreness aside (used to hate being sore, now that after bad withdrawals, the ability to feel sore because of getting fit is a mild delight), here are some things that have improved:
1) Sleep. I’ve been waking up consistently at 4.30 am – 5 am everyday. There were some days when I’ve just too exhausted by mid afternoon and I had to take a nap of about 2-3 hours. However, I’ve been able to sleep effortlessly by 12 midnight. I believe the tiredness of exercising helped me alot of my sleep. It has just been much easier since.
2) Dark patches (as seen in my pictures) seemed to have reduced, especially that on my legs and calves. I’ll have to let month 4 pictures do the talking as it may be too early to say exercise is the main reason. I posit that with movement, those areas of stagnant or limited bloodflow (damaged capillaries) are somewhat stimulated, leading to better and fresher blood flow, hence better skin repair. It could also be the higher quality of air due to increased breathing rates during exercises. Increased capillarity effect around muscles could also improve skin appearance. All these are known benefits of exercises. But the effect they have on TSW skin is uncharted territory.
One bad stuff:
1) Lethargy – probably overtraining during some days. Lots of built up lactic acid that makes you feel tired all the time. Pre-exercise, it was the lack of sleep that makes you tired. Post exercise – sometimes it is too much sleep and not enough of active recovery to remove those lactic acid.
Well thats it for this short update. Keep moving my skin friends!
