I lost an old friend recently. He had an unfortunate fatal car accident and that was it.
It is probably my first experience of losing someone I’d known, someone who was close to me during certain parts of my life.
The first thoughts that came to me was “What? Is that it? He is gone? Just like that?”
He was young and had a whole life ahead of him. And then suddenly he was just gone.
It is a reminder that life is so fragile, and that “he” could have easily been anyone – a stranger, your parents, your friends, your spouse, your kids, yourself.
It is a reminder that someone’s life could just cease to exist so quickly and suddenly.
It is a reminder that every moment is precious and we should make full use of time meaningfully, purposefully.
It is a reminder to cherish the people close to us.
Rest in peace, my friend. Our time in RaZ had been a blast.
