Back. Top (month 2), bottom (month 3). Not much difference in terms of improvement. My back is a place where it had zero contact with topical steroids. I remembered my back flaring up with huge patches of redness and raised hive like skin after a visit to an animal farm, and it took me months to clear up the redness. Environmental allergy is a source of inflammation. I just had a visit to the zoo and went to the monkeys enclosure and spent lots of time photographing them. After which I left and developed a intense itch everywhere and had a bad flare that night which went away after one day.
Right elbow. Top (mth 1), mid (mth 2), bottom (mth 3). Redness subsided, only raised patches of elephant like skin. Very SLOWWWWW improvement.
Outside left calve. Top (mth1), mid (mth2), bottom (mth3). I do feel improvement, but it is slow or very minimal improvement. The pictures look worse than it is for me personally. The lighting is also not consistent, so it may not be best to draw any conclusions.
Inside left calf. Top (mth1), mid (mth 2), bot (mth3). Some visible but minimal improvement.
Inside right calf. Top (mth1) mid (mth2), bot (mth 3). Same as above, slow progress.
Left arm. Top (mth1), mid (mth 2), bot (mth 3). Most visible progress. Crease on my left elbow is beginning to slowly recover its original skin color.
My skin problem is not limited to these areas. The areas that made the most recovery were my armpits (pretty sad that I did not have the pics at month 1). They were red, oozing, scabbing due to the TS I’ve used on them during my Jap trip. Now they recovered very well and look just like my elbows, spots of raised skin.
Because the improvements are so slow, I’ve started to worry that the damage may be permanent (as I’ve read in some sources). I’ve used dermovate (clobestol priop – the strongest class) on these areas, and I wondered if I may have damaged my skin significantly that it may never recover its original function. I hope to draw upon the experiences of vets/readers: is this phase somewhat of a stagnant phase that eventually clears up on its own with time?
Overall, as I’ve said, the pictures made my skin look worse than I actually feel. I’ve started running and doing alot of core work with no issues, albeit with minor irritations that I can will them away. Things have been great and that’s it for this month’s update!
